Leader Biomedical Group enters APAC market with new offices in Malaysia

Leader Biomedical Group further increases its global footprint by establishing Leader Biomedical ASIA PACIFIC SDN.BHD., in Selangor, Malaysia (Leader Biomedical APAC). Leader Biomedical APAC will focus on providing established and proven therapeutic orthopaedic and sports solutions to patients, and caregivers in the regions covering South East Asia.

“This new venture allows us to strategically expand our global footprint and further enhance our downstream value chain in South East Asia. Our established line of arthroplasty bone cements, robust category of trauma biomaterials, and eCOO® Technology processed human allografts, cater to our vision to continue improving global access to next generation healthcare. We have a great team in place and see great promise in this region” explains Basil Babychan, Business Director, Leader Biomedical Group.

The new operations kicked off with a successful exhibit at the Medical Fair Asia, in Singapore, in September 2016. This new venture will also allow Leader Biomedical to further offer its biomaterial portfolio of human bone tissue grafts processed with its proprietary eCOO® Technology, that uses supercritical CO2 to process allografts and xenografts. eCOO® Technology has proven to be more effective than conventional methods at preserving the tissue’s native crosslinking – an important factor associated with better recovery times for patients.

First deliveries of C-ment® and OssGro® have already been fulfilled to select hospitals. Our C-ment® line of bone cements, offered with or without antibiotics, as well as in different consistencies to match surgeon preference, has over 10 years of clinical results, providing the market with proven solutions and variety. OssGro® is part of our line of bone substitutes, produced using MBCP™ Technology, with good mechanical strength and resorption rates mimicking real bone.

“We are privileged with this opportunity to be able to offer cost-effective pioneering technologies in biomedical devices to the ASEAN region. Now having established operations in Malaysia, we expect to be fully operational in the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam early 2017. In line with our brand promise ‘EXTENDING YOUR REACH’, we will also be focusing on Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia, often overlooked markets.” adds Padmanabhan Mahalingam, Managing Director, Leader Biomedical APAC.

Leader Biomedical APAC follows earlier office openings in India, Russia, and Brazil and supports the company’s brand promise of extending the reach of customers, wherever they are.
